A little snow in INDY...

So fun times were had by all here in the great white north.  A little over 12 inches of snow fell & I spent 3 hours shoveling the drive this morning and only got about a quarter of it done.  Stephanie and the kids built some cool snow caves while I piled up the snow.  We capped the snow fun off by traveling to the only hill in Greenfield for some sledding and tubing.  My old discovery drives so good in the snow.  It seems like nothing could stop it.  Wee Haw!

This weeks Sermon: Together for a Reason

So here it is my friends a script for this weeks talk  I think we will be able to have some good conversations about this.  The General ideas center around the Church, Her beauty and what it means to God's church today.  When Abram was called by God, something really cool came out of that conversation  that could be tagged as the "1st Principle" of a Community of God's making.  God said to Abram: "I will bless you... and you will be a blessing."  The hanging question is what is our roll in this and are we living up to God's original design for his people.  Cool stuff.  Here's a pdf of the talk and the podcast is found in Itunes under Park Chapel (The Crossing).  Peace my friends.  Download Together for a Reason

Some Scenes from Old Mexico...

As many of you know I've spent quite a bit of time over the past 12 years with some friends spreading a bit of the love of Jesus in Old Mexico.  We've established an outstanding reputation as a reputable mission to the community of Piedras Negras.  Our website is worth a peak if you would like to know more about what's going on.  www.crossroadsmissions.com

  After so many years of heading down to do some work in the community, I've managed to make lots of lasting friendships and share in the lives of a really cool Christian tribe.  We've built lots of homes in a community called "Piedra Angular" (cornerstone), offered Medical trips, built a church building, a couple of schools, a major children's home renovation, shared in multiple children's outreach events, and the list could go on and on.  Over all we have shared in lots of smiles and created some cool stories to be told for years to come.

This past week I traveled down to serve on a mission council for Mission Trinidad.  www.mtrinidad.org  

The Council was full of some really incredible minds as well as fun people to hang out with and learn from.  Our prayer is to work with individuals, churches, and other ministries to better the HEALTH of their communities.  If you find yourselves interested in helping us out financially or by other means just let us know by clicking on the mtrinidad link above.  We're looking for doctors and clergy to assist us in this effort.

Acoustic Guitar Stage Set-Up

So here's some real valuable information.  Ok not really, but it may be of interest to some of you Acoustic Guitarist out there.  Over the years my quest for that truly great sounding Acoustic tone has led me to this set-up and I love it!  

A couple of months ago I worked with a buddy of mine to build my own pedal board and so we cut the wood to just the right size and added a comfortable lift to the back end of it.  I found a cool piece of runner carpet on a roll at The Home Depot and stapled it down.  (This makes for a great platform for velcro)  I bought some industrial strength velcro and put it on the back all my pedals and it sticks great!

So there it is.  My Acoustic tones in a nutshell.  The pedal board is a great set-up for me these days and quite in-expensive to build.  I love the custom look, feel and lean to it all.  The velcro is so strong that just carrying the pedal with the handle doesn't even budge the pedals at all.
